Fun Review Game for 5th Sunday in May!

Alright...I wasn't sure if I was going to post any ideas for this Sunday, but yesterday I got a comment from 'Frost Family' (Sorry I don't know your first name) asking if I had any ideas to share. I had been thinking of some, and after I read your comment I decided I would post an idea. So here is my idea...I hope it can help some of you out.
I thought a review game would be fun. A game that focused on each principle and ordinance that the children have learned this month. I had a few game ideas, but I finally decided on a Jeopardy game.

There are 5 different categories: Faith, Repentance, Holy Ghost, & Scripture Search. Some of the questions may be a little hard for Jr. Primary, but I thought the teachers could help.
Click Here to view my Jeopardy game.

If you don't want to play Jeopardy (it may not be exciting enough for Jr. Primary) you could use the questions that I have given and play my LDS Squares gameTic-Tac-Toe, or Squares Game.

Some other ideas you could do:
Bowling- if you have a bowling set, take turns having the children come up and bowl. Then ask them a question. If they answer correctly they get to keep their score, if they answer incorrectly they get a Gutter Ball.
Basket Toss- I did this for Singing time. Get several buckets/baskets. Inside each basket have a piece of paper with different points in them (i.e.- 5, 10, 15, 20pts.). Split the primary into 2 teams. Take turns choosing a child form each team to come up to the front of them room. Ask them a question. If they answer correctly they get to toss a ball into a basket. If they answer incorrectly the other team gets a chance to steal.
Balloon Pop- this is a game that the Jr. Primary loves. Have different questions inside of balloons. Blow each balloon up. Choose a child to come up and pop a balloon, either by sitting on it or using a pin. Once it's popped find the question and ask the child the question. This is a really fun game, and it's not too loud.

Well, there are some ideas. I hope you like them. Let me know if you use any and how your Sharing Time went. And please let me know if you have any questions or problems. Just leave a comment or send me an email @ littleldsideas@hotmail.com. Thanks!! Have a great weekend!

1st Week Sharing Time Idea for June

The Holy Ghost is the Third Member of the Godhead.

A few weeks ago, I received an email from a wonderful woman named Sandie Jeserick. Sandie lives in Pleasant Grove, UT; and she has been nice enough to share her Sharing Time idea with all of us.
Sandie's idea is to get a picture of each member of the Godhead: Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Then have different characteristics/clues of each member written on pieces of paper. The children will have to match each characteristic with the member of the Godhead it goes to.
Sandie was kind enough to include the characteristics she will be using. She has typed them up and they have a sentence clue and they also include a scripture that the children can look up.

Sandie also included a few Holy Ghost puzzles that you could give to the children. The children can make a booklet (she found instructions on making a booklet at Mormonshare, click to go to the link.) or have them take them home and encourage them to have a Family Home Evening on the Holy Ghost.

Sandie also included a bunch of imformation on the Holy Ghost that she found on LDS.org:

Sandie, I just want to thank you again for all the work that you did to make this great Sharing Time idea.

Some Exciting News!!

I have been meaning to post my exciting news, but lately I have felt like I'm in a whirlwind. Non-stop craziness! But Sundays are wonderful...we don't have church until 12:30pm, so I have plenty of time to relax and do nothing! :) Now for my news!

Mormon Share Button

Jenny Smith of Mormonshare.com has been kind enough to feature my blog on her website! I was so excited when she emailed me and told me the news. I thought I'd better post a special Thank you post to Jenny for being so kind.

If you haven't visited Mormonshare, you should definitely head on over there. I love Jenny's website. She has alot of great ideas for Primary, Young Women, Quarterly Activities, and more. And she also has alot of great clip art. I visit her site often.

Jenny, thanks again for featuring my little blog, I really appreciate it! And thanks for your amazing website. You're awesome!!

(I have more exciting news about my little ol' blog, but I'll have to share that later.)

4th Week Sharing Time Idea for May

Alright, I am finally posting my idea for the 4th week Sharing Time. I like the idea that is in the Primary Outline, so I kind of incorporated that into the idea that I am sharing.
The idea that I'm sharing is a 'Gift of the Holy Ghost Gift Game'. It's a guessing game. You will have several clues, wrapped as presents. You will also have a large present with the GAK Picture 602 (Gift of the Holy Ghost) inside. The children will take turns picking a small present/clue. Once all the gifts have been opened they will need to guess what gift we receive after we are baptized/when we are confirmed. I'm thinking most of them will know it right away, but I think they'll still have fun.
I included scripture references for each of the clues. You don't have to use them, but I thought that you could for the Senior Primary. You could give a clue to different groups of children, then they need to match their scripture to the clue that they think goes with their scripture. Once everyone has matched their clue, choose someone to come open the gift (Gift of the Holy Ghost). Invite each group to come up and talk a little bit about their clue, and what it has to do with the Holy Ghost.
I also included an idea for a treat...once again this is optional. I just had the idea and thought I'd share it with all of you.

3rd Week Sharing Time Idea for May

When I am Baptized I make a Covenant with God

Click Here to print the keys and locks!!
Update: I have made my door poster! And I found my USB cord, yeah!
Here is the front of my poster...
I decided to print out pictures of children with the
words 'I Promise' up at the top. (I have to re-type it and make
it bigger.)   I don't know if i'll post the 'Heavenly Father Promises...' banner
beside the door or on the back-side of the door.
How I made the door: I drew the shape of the door and then cut.
(Don't cut the left side of the door, so that it is still attached.)
Then I covered my door with brown cardstock. Oh, I forgot...I will probably
add a little door handle. Find your locks (mind came from Microsoft Word).
Then attach those to your door. I put a little piece of velcro on the top and
bottom lock, just to make sure the door stayed closed. If you would like to add
some children print some out. I got mine from Mormonshare...I love these little
boys and girls! I thought this would help the children understand what we promise.

Here are the keys I will be using. I have the covenants,
that we make when we are baptized, taped on them.
For Sharing Time: When the children find the keys they will post them on the locks...like this.

Here is the inside of the door. I will have a picture of Heavenly Father/Jesus Christ
inside the door. On the back of the door it says 'Heavenly Father Promises...'
Below it are the things that our Heavenly Father promises us.
(The little black strips is the velcro I used.)
There you go...nothing fancy. I hope this helps some of you out. Sorry it took so long to post...we had a long drive home today. :)

I'm sorry I have been such a slacker for this week's Sharing Time. I have been thinking of what to do, but I just couldn't come up with anything...maybe my brain is on vacation, haha. So, yesterday I drove down to Utah to spend a few days with my Sisters and my Mom (who flew up from Texas...yeah!!). I kept asking them if any of them had any good ideas that I could use, but with 9 crazy kids running around the house none of us really had time to think of ideas.
I was getting ready to post the only idea that I could think of (which is pretty much what is in the Primary Outline), and then my sister came up with this really cute idea!
She came up with an idea using a door, locks and keys (which represent our baptismal covenants). The children will find the keys and unlock each lock. Once all of the locks are unlocked the door will be able to open and reveal Heavenly Father's Promise to us.

Click Here to view my Sharing Time idea for the 3rd week in May.

I am going to try to make my door and locks tonight, and post a picture on here tomorrow for all of you to see. So, come back in a few days if you would like to see an example of my door.

I Hope all of you have a wonderful Mother's Day, you deserve it!!
(I'm sorry I didn't post any ideas...I totally forgot to post ideas)
